For the last 18 months we have been working with the Durango Chamber of Commerce, Healthy Lifestyles La Plata and L.O.C.A.L. a coalition of business owners and nonprofit groups in the Durango and surrounding area on a campaign to keep dollars longer in our community. It has been a long process determining where each entity fit in and how the story should be crafted to make the most impact in reaching the audience.
The campaign encourages La Plata County residents to look locally when they are making a buying decision. A good exercise is to put your business or family budget in a pie chart and determine where your money goes when you spend it.
